Individually we can contribute. Collectively, we can change the planet.

The Declaration for Humanity is a first stage of creating a platform for making the world a better place. The Declaration itself will be a relatively short document that evolve for six months to a year based on the contributions of people who care about the common good of humanity and the planet. It will contain a preamble that describes the scope of the document and then contain brief statements related to particular issues - such as justice, food, disease, air, water, earth and so on. As people edit this document, they may sign it, pass it along to friends and encourage others to participate. In the end we will have the map for making the entire planet a better place to live.

When the Declaration has been refined and is sufficiently detailed to guide change, and when it has sufficient support, it will become the basis of another website. That website will allow people who care about the common good to 1) commit a certain portion of their lives (perhaps a year or two) to working on one small part of one issue identified in the Declaration, 2) connect to others who are working on that issue, and 3) celebrate change as it occurs.

Individuals, families and groups, companies, non-profits and others will be able to publicly acknowledge their commitment, share what they are doing and collaborate with others. They will self-identify what they want to do. Some may act locally, some regionally and some internationally. Some may pick discrete tasks that serve needs directly. Others may chose to study and research. Other may chose to organize. Each person, group and institution will contribute as he, she or it sees fit with the only guide being the map created by the Declaration itself.

However no one will be isolated in their efforts. Through the web they will be connected with friends, allies, partners and others who are committed to the same ventures that they are. People will be linked to information, resources, organizations and support to accomplish their piece of the common good.

Together we can change the world.

If you want to contribute to humanity's love letter to itself, click on the Declaration page and either edit what is there or add something new. Please be positive, thoughtful and visionary.

Signatures

Matthew Wesley
Gary Stamper
Kari Mays

Declaration For Humanity
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all human beings are entitled to live lives of dignity in peace, without fear of want and deprivation, and without needless pain and suffering. Individuals are entitled to work, play, learn, raise children and develop their full potential. They are entitled to political and religious freedom. They are entitled to live in sustainable and harmonious cultures which support the rights of the individual without ignoring the responsibilities of the collective. These rights and responsibilities are founded upon the the interconnected web of existence and the delicate balance of systems of nature and society around the planet. To that end, we, as human beings, declare the following to be necessary for humanity not only to survive, but to evolve to its full potential.

Freedom of Thought - Humanity has entrenched patterns of thought and assumptions that must be questioned and wrestled with. As we be come aware of our tendency to form habitual patterns of thought that arise from deeper, unquestioned fears, we become free to explore new avenues of awareness, interconnectedness and celebration.

The Planet - Humanity, individually and in collectives of all types, is responsible for the planet. We have in our hands the techological capacity to decimate the bioshphere or bring it back to health. To do so requires a shift in consciousness, cultural transformation and econcomic and political restructuring on a massive scale.

Food

Water

Shelter

Health Care: increasingly we understand the connection between our deeply programmed minds and the outer manifestation of our bodies, and we find greater access to Wholeness in mind body and our interconnectedness by moving to forms of Health Care that evolve us beyond the bandwidth of our current materialistic paradigms that we have outgrown. We create collaborative communities of engagement and responsiveness to our deepest health, we restore our bodies with habits of diet, joyful movement, meditation, rest and engagement in the world around us. We use the current material technologies appropriately as we move beyond them to greater sources of healing on the planes prior to physical manifestation. As healed beings we spontaneously and naturally create healed environments.

Values

Work

Families & Relationships

Education

Government

Justice

Peace

Religion
